Motivation within open innovation communities within organizations:
The motivation psychology part of the project deals with the examination of the motivational power of visions in the context of open innovation. Additionally the three following aspects of motivation psychology are in the center of our research interest: First, we set out to investigate the potential for motivation of the innovation tasks itself. Here we approach the special issue of flow-experiences. Second, the potential for motivation via the creation of a social software platform (as a situative framework) is examined. And finally we look at individual-related motivation components such as affective preferences, cognitive preferences and subjective abilities. At all levels, we will identify drivers and hurdles of open innovation. The gained findings are directly used to develop a social software platform to support the open innovation processes in companies.
